This amount shows a decline when compared to the April 2025 collections, which stood at Rs. 2,36,716 crores. Detailed Overview of May 2025 GST Collections

Compared to the previous financial year, May 2025's GST collection recorded a substantial increase. Nevertheless, the total gross GST revenue for May 2025, at Rs. 2.01 lakh crore, was less than the collections from the preceding month. This monthly collection for May 2025 demonstrates a 16.4% growth year-on-year compared to May 2024, when the total was Rs. 1.74 lakh crore.

The gross GST collection for May 2025 comprises several key elements: CGST contributed Rs. 35,434 crores, SGST accounted for Rs. 43,902 crores, IGST stood at Rs. 1,08,836 crores, and Cess was Rs. 12,879 crores.
