Verifying GST Payment Status Online Without Logging In
Begin by accessing the official GST portal. Login is not required for this method. From the main dashboard, navigate to the Services tab, then Payments, and finally select 'Track Payment Status'.
Provide your GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) and CPIN (Common Portal Identification Number). After entering these details, complete the captcha verification and click 'Track Status'. The system will display whether the payment is 'Paid' or 'Not Paid'.
The challan status will be presented, enabling you to take appropriate subsequent actions.
If the Status is 'PAID': If the payment status shows 'PAID', the 'View receipt' button becomes active. Taxpayers can click this button to view and then download the official payment receipt by selecting the 'Download' option.
If the Status is 'NOT PAID': For payments marked 'NOT PAID', an offline copy of the challan can be saved by clicking the 'Download' button.
How to Check GST Payment Status After Logging In
Access the GST portal by logging in with your credentials.
Navigate to the 'Services' tab, then the 'Payments' section, and select the 'Challan History' option.
You can search for specific challans using either the CPIN or by filtering results by date. A comprehensive list of challans along with their respective payment statuses will be displayed.
Actions to Take if a GST Payment Fails
Should an e-payment transaction display 'Failed' or 'Not Paid', the taxpayer has the option to click the 'View Challan' button. From there, they can choose the appropriate bank, agree to the terms and conditions, and re-initiate the payment process by clicking 'Make Payment'.
